The Nature-Nurture Journal of Psychology (NNJP) is committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards in academic publishing. We adhere to international ethical guidelines, including those set forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), to ensure research integrity, fairness, and transparency throughout the publication process.
- Research Integrity
All submitted manuscripts must uphold the principles of honesty, accuracy, and transparency in research. The following practices are strictly prohibited:
- Plagiarism: Submissions must be original. Any verbatim content from other sources must be properly cited.
- Fabrication & Falsification: Data manipulation, selective reporting, and misrepresentation of research findings are unacceptable.
- AI-Generated Content: Any use of AI tools must be disclosed, and AI-generated text cannot be credited as an author.
- Authorship & Contribution Ethics
- All listed authors must have made a substantial contribution to the research and manuscript preparation.
- Any conflicts of interest, including financial, institutional, or personal biases, must be fully disclosed at the time of submission.
- Ghostwriting, honorary authorship, or false attribution of authorship is strictly prohibited.
- Peer Review Confidentiality & Objectivity
- NNJP follows a double-blind peer review process to ensure impartiality.
- Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts objectively, maintain confidentiality, and disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
- Any ethical concerns, data discrepancies, or suspected misconduct identified during the review process should be reported immediately.
- Editorial Integrity & Decision-Making
- Editorial decisions are based solely on the scientific merit, originality, and relevance of the research.
- Editors must not have any conflicts of interest with submitted manuscripts.
- Any concerns regarding ethical misconduct will be investigated thoroughly, following COPE guidelines.
- Ethical Considerations for Human & Animal Research
- All studies involving human participants must have received institutional ethical approval, and participants must provide informed consent.
- Ethical approval documentation should be submitted upon request.
- Corrections, Retractions & Appeals
- If errors are identified post-publication, corrections or retractions will be issued transparently.
- Authors have the right to appeal editorial decisions by providing a detailed justification for reconsideration.
